CANM8-NAV is ideal for use when installing Navigation Systems, Car Audio & Entertainment, Mobile Phone Hands Free Kits, Taxi Meters and many other systems which require sensing of vehicle systems, such as speed and ignition.

Installation

The interface as standard features a mini wiring connector, which unplugs to allow easy installation. There are 2 connections to the vehicle CAN Bus wiring (CAN Hi & CAN Lo) along with a connection to a permanent, fused 12v power supply and an earth connection. Alternatively, a 'Plug & Play' connection loom is available seperately.

The remaining 6 wires are conventional outputs which are generated from the CAN bus. These outputs are:
  • 12v Pulsed Speed Signal
  • 12V Pulsed RPM Signal
  • 12v Ignition On
  • 12v Reverse Selected *
  • 12v Illumination On *
  • 0v Hand Brake On *
* Please note, some vehicle CAN systems do not support this output and so the output function may not be available to all installations. Please click here to download full details in PDF format.

The interface incorporates a multi-function status LED, which indicates correct connection to the CAN system, CAN activity present and confirmation that the CAN identity has been recognised.

Now available with a high frequency speed pulsed output, providing approximately 14,400 pulses per mile!!
