The CANM8 Taxilock control interface provides an intelligent, speed controlled locking solution specifically designed for Taxi applications.
The interface featured here is a bespoke unit for installation to Peugeot Expert models and derivatives.
The interface works by sensing the speed of the vehicle and automatically locks the rear door child lock system when the vehicle speed exceeds approximately 6 MPH. As the vehicle slows to below 6 MPH, the child lock system is automatically unlocked.
The interface also features a 12v+ output for controlling rear 'Doors Locked' warning LED's. The output activates as soon as speed is detected and switches off when the vehicle comes to a stand still.
A standard speed pulse is also provided from the interface for connection to a Taximeter if required.
The Taxilock interface is installed to the wiring at the rear of the audio unit. Connections required are as below:
- CAN HI
- CAN LO
- 12V+ (Permanent)
- 0v Ground
- Child Lock control connection
- LED control connection***
- Speed Pulse output***
***These connections are optional.
The Child Lock control connection is made at the Child Lock control switch, loctaed at the side of the audio unit.
The CANM8-Taxilock unit is compatible with the vehicles below that feature independent, electronic Child Lock control.
